Kids, have you ever seen the flowers of the Prajakta (or the Parijata) tree?
The Prajakta flowers have an ethereal beauty – small white petals with saffron stems and a light, mesmerizing fragrance… But as they are very dainty and fragile, they don’t enjoy a longer life, they fade away soon…
So rather than pluck them and weave them in bouquets or garlands, we preserve their essence in our eyes, our breath and our hearts… so we can recall their beautiful appearance and pleasing fragrance whenever we wish to..
“Prajakta” may not be very popular like your roses, carnations and orchids… but it still lives in the hearts of many like us…
Many such “Prajakta” buds are hidden in our Vedas, Puranas, Mythology, Sanskrit and Regional Literature, Sant-Kathas, and so on… some of them are a call to action, some provide guidance, some are just in the lighter vein while some convey a profound thought…
I plan to bring some of these “प्राजक्ताची फुले” (Prajakta buds) to you… every Sunday morning… let’s see if they can find a place in your hearts too…
प्राजक्ताची फुले...
मुलांनो, तुम्ही प्राजक्ता ची फुले पाहिली आहेत का?
ही फुलं दिसायला सुंदर - पांढरी- केशरी, त्यांचा सुगंध मनमोहक असतो... पण खूप नाजूक असल्यामुळे लगेच कोमेजून जातात...
त्यामुळे ही फुले हाताळण्या पेक्षा, ती आपल्या डोळ्यात, श्वासात व हृदयात साठवायची असतात... म्हणजे त्यांचे सुंदर रूप, आल्हाददायी सुगंध आपण पाहिजे तेव्हा आठवून सुखावू शकतो...
प्राजक्त काही तुमच्या rose, orchids, carnations सारखा "popular" नाही.. पण तो अजूनही जिवंत आहे.. आमच्या सारख्या अनेकांच्या मनात...
आपले वेद, पुराण, स्तोत्र, संत-वाङ्मय, संस्कृत / मराठी वाङ्मय, दंत-कथा (mythology) ह्यात अशीच अनेक प्राजक्ताची फुले दडली आहेत... जी कधी प्रेरणा देतात, तर कधी मार्ग-दर्शन करतात, कधी नुसतीच हसवतात तर कधी खूप खोल काहीतरी सुचवतात...
...अशी ही काही प्राजक्ताची फुले तुमच्या पर्यंत घेऊन येणार आहे... दर रविवारी सकाळी... बघा तुमच्या मनात कुठे ते घर करतील का ते....
